Who We Are
The CIO Executive Series (CIOES Group) consists of over 200 decision- making IT executives, representing a diversity of businesses and organizations. Our members share their technology and business expertise, discuss new and changing technologies, and build relationships with fellow IT professionals through a social peer network.
CIOES group members have the opportunity to meet each month through online Virtual Roundtables. At least twice every year, the CIO Executive Series hosts live events where members can meet and socialize face-to-face in the Washington, DC area. There are no membership dues or fees to join.
The Virtual Roundtables (VRTs) held by the CIO Executive Series are moderated by the group’s Founder, Bill Murphy. Bill passionately fosters community interaction in the VRTs and by delivering relevant technology information through a variety of exciting avenues. Members of the Board ensure that group interests are represented.
Are you making tough IT decisions solo?
Want to know what your peers think about the topics that are important to you?
Interested in hearing what others have experienced or know about product sets and vendors?
Looking to develop higher-quality relationships with your peers?
Tired of the high priced research firms?
Want to talk directly to your peers regarding IT issues?
Welcome to the CIO Executive Series and CIOES TV,
My name is Bill Murphy; I founded the CIO Executive Series group over 12 years ago when CIO round tables were quite new and unique. Our group has expanded beyond the traditional physical round table format to an interactive online discussion format we call our Virtual Roundtable “VRT”. The latest technology has enabled us to also utilize webcams, transferring our online meetings and learning sessions into Video Virtual Roundtable “VVRTs”.
My mission is to create a community that can offer tools to connect CIOs with one another- worldwide and regionally. Connecting with peers should be fun!
CIO Executive Series members have access to participate in our Virtual Roundtables and invitation-only discussion groups, watch exclusive interviews, enjoy live and recorded broadcasts, and receive valuable research information, and special invitations to live events. Members get updates and announcements through our website, emails, LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter.
The value you can gain from being a member of the CIO Executive Series group is determined by your own level of participation. Membership is free, but only a top-level IT Executive (you know who you are) can attend CIO Executive Series events.
Our members lead organizations that range in size from 100 to 100,000 users. Concentrated in the D.C. Metropolitan area and Mid-Atlantic, where the group was born, our membership is expanding to encompass CIOs from all over! Join the group; contact Donna Cahill, Manager, New Media & Member Development at dcahill@cioes.org or 410-858-4111. You can also join through LinkedIn and follow us on Twitter. Receive our emails and be in the know! Sign up to for a subscription to cioes.org.
On a personal note, I would like to share an overview of my role as CEO of my IT firm, RedZone Technologies. Based in Annapolis, Maryland, RedZone Technologies focuses providing expert assessments and solutions for: public and private cloud computing, migration support, infrastructure, disaster recovery, and security. The company has grown since I founded it in 2001. As an entrepreneur in IT, I understand the challenges and needs of today’s CIOs. Enjoy cioes.org and see if our dynamic group is for you.
All the best,
CIO Executive Series Notes
How Ken Cohn kept pace with technical changes through the years at PEPCO:
“I stayed current with groups like Forrester, Gartner, IDC, vendor discussions and your group, Bill, the CIO Executive Series Roundtable Group. Through the years, the CIO roundtable discussions with your group have been great and have been a good source of learning what my peers are doing. In particular this year I really enjoyed the Morton’s Steak Lunch and the speaker. The security speaker was great.”
